My latest work.

This one looks almost evil. I have painted hogs and a few Bryant Hornets so I thought that I might try my hand at a PANTHER! He is not quite finished but well on his way. I think that I am going to like him.

Abstract, Footballs, Santas, Hogs OH MY!

Here are several of my latest pieces of artwork. I will be taking them to a Holiday Shopping event in the area. I have several paintings to choose from at this time on various subject matters. I have tried some new finishes and some layering on several of these paintings, but I have still yet to have mastered taking their photos.

TOO EARLY FOR SANTA???

Could it be too early for SANTA?

Acrylic Gallery Wrapped Canvas* Update: I am happy to say that the paintings I did for the school auction did really well. The person who won them has some of my other art work. Perhaps I have a collector! It is a nice feeling to have a piece of your art benefit such a great cause!

UP FOR AUCTION

Win and Emma are having a fall carnival at school, so I decided to give them a couple of paintings to add to the silent auction. I think that they turned out really good.

These are not up for auction, just a few that I have been working on lately.
I normally do not do cute Halloween decor. I am normally a spooky, horror house type of decor but this year I decided to do a Halloween painting.
Here is a 12x12 Razorback. I love to paint these!

Fall Hogs!

I don't seem to post on this blog very often, because it is about my paintings and what knots and I only do that in my spare time!!!! But today a few of my paintings found a new home. I took four of my RAZORBACK paintings to EXPRESS YOURSELF in Bryant. Darla was doing a new window display for fall with Red and Razorback stuff. I asked if she wanted some paintings and she said sure. WELL.... I am not so sure that I am so sure but I did anyway. I will have to go and take a picture of her window display to put on the blog. I enjoy my paintings and it really doesn't matter, but not so sure I am ready to say HERE I AM as an ARTIST....... I have sold several paintings now but I think that I will always have that feeling. I did not go to art school and I haven't had any lessons, I just enjoy doing it. It is and has been for a long time my escape. Something that always seems to make me happy and keep my mind off of what is going on around me. I remember I really started painting around 7 years ago. I have enjoyed it ever since! Pictures will be posted later.

TEXTURES & MARTINIS!

Colorful texture creates a fun painting for me on this one. I have not varnished it at this time, because I haven't decided if it is complete. I love how in art you can love something right away or work on a creation until it evolves into a piece that you love!

Martini Madame

This painting turned out really cute. This is not the best photo of her. She is fun and festive. Perfect for any bar or kitchen area. She is adorned with jewel tone gems.

LOVE HER!

Paintings in Progress

So with everything going on lately, I have had little if not any time to paint :(
BUT I am working on several pieces that I just had to share.
#1 --- He is a little HOG with the fight song in the background. Cute.
#2......Running hog. I love the marbled background of this one.

OK, so I am not paying attention when loading the pictures and have one more full body HOG with the fight song in the background. I don't know where that picture went. Guess that I will have to post it when it is completed.
#3---Martini Girl, she is fun and almost finished with just a few jewels she will be complete.
#4------This project will take me forever. I had this idea to do characters from one of the Super Mario Games for WIn's room. Well, they are much harder for me to do and will take tons of work. I lost the poster and just began to paint the "people" only to be told that no that man's head is pink and that man is gray......so needless to say I had to hunt up that poster and go by the exact colors and it will take coat after coat to get this one down!!! Might just be finished for CHRISTMAS!!

So these are the latest of my painting madness! Hope you enjoy!

WHOOOO PIG!

Here are some of my HOG paintings. Once again, I am new to taking pictures and will have to figure out some sort of background rather than all my junk in the garage!!
This is a rather funny HOG. I laugh at him every time I see him. He is rather large.

Here is a small HOG. I painted this one to sit in the bookcase. It has a nice golden shine.
I really enjoyed the square canvas.

The New Blog...

Monday, January 25, 2010

Today I start another blog. I don't do a very good job of keeping up with the family one...so don't know how I will keep up with this one too. I just wanted to share my paintings with people and the family site is really not the place so.....HERE GOES NOTHING.

I use to paint before kids. Isn't it funny how things change and time is of the essence with kids. But saying this I have made some time for me and things that I like. THIS is the only way that I can keep all of my marbles with three little ones. Even though they are not little any more, the battles are pretty much the same. I will also say that my photography skills are not the best when it comes to these paintings. I think it might be the high gloss varnish that is throwing me off! I will play with that and just have to see. So here they are....

This is a larger painting with gold, bronze and a turquoise blue color. The picture turned out rather fuzzy. It is just abstract, as most of my paintings. It is acrylic with a glossy varnish.
36 x 48
This is a smaller painting with rich tones of red, gold, bronze, black and brown.
30 x 24

This is one of my favorite paintings right now. It is several shades of blue with a hint of black.
It has lots of movement .
24 x 24

I had so much fun with this painting. It can be hung in either direction.
I have really been drawn to red lately when painting.
It contains reds, pinks and purples. It too shows lots of movement.
24 x 48
I have enjoyed doing several RAZORBACK paintings. They are my new thing to paint. They will be in posts to come. I have to return to my day job of laundry etc.
